Who are we? Your Print Institute (YPI) is an initiative designed to help commercial printers, sign makers, designers, creatives and crafters gain skills. Which, then allows them to harness their talents and help them get saleable products to market. Equally, bringing together communities of creative individuals through local resource centers that enable and support digital printmaking.

Consequently, this is a unique opportunity for everyone in the industry. From technical and application experts, manufacturers, and suppliers to come together with end-users, home-workers, and students to share knowledge, experience, and expertise. This will help creatives and small businesses looking to get involved in digital print the ability to accelerate ideas, connect with key personnel, and share resources and knowledge to help them get their creative businesses up and running.

The YPI Soft furnishing and sewing course.

More Info

This workshop is ideal for complete beginners or people who have just purchased a sewing machine and not used one in a long time. You can even bring in your new machine with all its attachments or feel free to use one of ours. You will be shown the basic functionality and learn how to thread up the machine and bobbin plus lots more hints and tips. You will also complete two basic sewing project s to test your new knowledge. Feel free to bring along 1/2 Meter of Fabric or choose from our remnants. The workshop is deliberately kept small to ensure that one to one tuition is provided. You will even take home a small project that you will complete on the day.

PLEASE NOTE:

Collectively, we are working hard to ensure the first YPI location in Newcastle meets all the requirements for Covid-19. When appropriate, we will be able to run training courses, demonstrations, and workshops from here. Other Institutes will soon be opening in Manchester and London, with more in the pipeline
